이날 취임식에서 권진회 총장은 Fly with GNU, 혁신을 이끄는 국가거점국립대학의 리더’라는 비전으로 ‘혁신하는 대학, 성장하는 대학, 행복한 대학으로 거점 국립대 Top3 진입’의 포부를 밝혔다.

경상국립대학교는 최근 학령인구 감소와 디지털 대전환이라는 지역대학의 위기 속에서도 교육부 글로컬대학30에 선정되는 등, 교육·연구·학습 프로그램을 혁신하며 지역 거점 국립대학으로의 역할을 다하고 있다.
