[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 진주안락공원 자연장지 현장에서 인근 주민과 관계자 50여 명이 참석해 자연장지 운영을 위한 주민설명회를 개최했다고 24일 밝혔다.

 

이번 설명회에는 초장동과 중앙동 주민, 초전동 발전협의회 회원 등이 참석해 자연장지 조성 과정과 시설 운영 방향에 대한 설명과 안정적인 운영을 위한 다양한 의견을 제시했다.

 

안락공원 현대화 사업은 지난 2022년 1월 착공해 지난 2024년 10월 신설 화장장 조성을 완료했으며, 지난 1월 전체 사업을 준공하는 등 장사시설 현대화를 추진해 왔다.

 

시는 지난 5월 자연장지인 잔디장 1부지 865위와 수목장 1부지 112위 조성을 완료했으며, 하반기부터 시민들이 이용할 수 있도록 본격적인 운영 준비에 나선다.

 

자연장지는 고인의 유골을 잔디나 나무 등 자연과 조화를 이루는 방식으로 안치하는 친환경 장사시설로, 시는 새로운 추모문화 확산에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
