[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함양군이 지리산권역 최초의 다목적사방댐 조성을 완료하며 산림재난 대응과 농업용수 확보를 위한 기반을 마련했다.

함양군은 지난 19일 마천면 군자리 도마마을 상부에 총사업비 19억2,700여만 원을 투입한 다목적사방댐을 준공했다고 밝혔다.

사방댐은 저수용량 1만5,800㎥ 규모로 조성됐으며, 산불 발생 시 진화용수 공급과 갈수기 농업용수 확보, 집중호우 시 토석류와 유목 차단을 통한 산사태 예방 기능을 함께 수행한다.

특히 확보된 용수는 담수 용량 4천ℓ인 KA-32 산불진화헬기가 약 4천 차례 담수할 수 있는 규모로, 대형 산불 발생 시 초기 대응 능력을 높일 것으로 기대된다.

이번 사업은 2024년 산림청 공모사업에 선정돼 국비를 확보하면서 추진됐다. 함양군은 대상지 발굴과 관계기관 협의를 진행하는 한편, 사업 부지인 임야와 전답 3만3,761㎡를 매입하고 주민설명회와 개별 면담을 통해 주민 의견을 반영하며 사업을 추진했다.
