[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 고성군 상하수도사업소 소속 정재경 상수도팀장이 국가 최고 수준의 기술자격인 상하수도기술사 시험에 합격하며 고성군 최초의 상하수도기술사로 이름을 올렸다.

 

고성군은 정재경 팀장이 한국산업인력공단이 시행한 2026년 제138회 정기 기술사 시험에서 상하수도기술사 자격을 취득했다고 밝혔다.

 

상하수도기술사는 상하수도 분야의 계획과 연구, 설계, 시공, 운영, 기술자문, 감리 등을 수행할 수 있는 국가 공인 최고 수준의 전문자격이다. 최종 합격률이 5% 안팎에 불과할 정도로 취득이 어려운 자격으로 알려져 있다.

 

정 팀장은 2003년 공직에 입문한 이후 현재 고성군 상하수도사업소 상수도팀장으로 근무하며 수돗물 공급 안정화와 수질 개선, 상수도 공급 확대, 노후관로 정비 등의 업무를 담당해 왔다.

 

특히 업무와 병행해 퇴근 후와 주말 시간을 활용해 꾸준히 학업과 연구를 이어온 끝에 이번 성과를 거둔 것으로 전해졌다.

 

군은 이번 기술사 배출이 상하수도 분야 전문성을 높이고 각종 사업 추진 과정에서 기술적 검토와 행정 역량을 강화하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 

정재경 팀장은 “현장 경험과 기술사 전문성을 접목해 보다 안전하고 깨끗한 물 공급 체계를 구축하는 데 힘쓰겠다”며 “고성군 상하수도 발전과 군민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
