[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍남표 창원특례시장이 추석 명절 한가위를 앞둔 11일 지역 내 사회복지시설인 로뎀의집과 마산어시장을 잇달아 방문해 민생현장 소통을 시작했다.

첫 번째 방문지인 로뎀의집을 찾은 홍 시장은 직접 시설을 둘러보며, 시설 현황에 대한 설명을 듣고 종사자들과 소통하는 시간을 가졌으며, 힘든 여건 속에서도 열정적으로 일하는 직원들의 노고에 감사의 뜻을 전달했다.

로뎀의집(시설장 천지현)은 마산교구천주교회유지재단에서 운영하고 있으며, 2003년 개관하여 사회로부터 소외받는 10대 소녀들에게 상담, 치료, 직업교육을 실시하여 건강한 여성으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

이어 마산어시장을 방문한 홍 시장은 최근 화재로 어려움을 겪고 있는 청과시장 상인 한 분 한 분에게 격려와 위로의 말을 전했으며, 시장 곳곳을 다니며 손수 추석 성수품을 구입하면서 상인들뿐만 아니라 시장을 방문한 시민들과 현장 소통의 시간을 가졌다.
