[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시와 인제대학교가 동부경남 지자체-대학 교류협약과 글로컬대학 기관장 최종 보고회를 22일 개최했다.

 

이번 행사는 다가오는 26일 교육부에 제출할 글로컬대학 최종 실행계획서를 점검, 의견을 수렴하고 인제대 글로컬대학 사업 성과의 동부경남권 확산을 위해 권역 지자체와 대학이 협력을 약속하는 자리이다.

 

동부경남 지자체로는 김해시, 밀양시, 양산시가, 대학으로는 인제대, 가야대, 김해대, 영산대, 동원과학기술대가 참석했으며 김해지역 산업계를 대표하는 김해상공회의소까지 총 9개 기관이 참석해 글로컬대학 최종 실행계획서를 점검하고 의견을 모았다.

 

교육부는 오는 26일 오후 5시까지 20개 글로컬대학 예비지정 대학으로부터 실행계획서를 접수해 8월 중순 대면평가를 거쳐 같은 달 말 본지정 결과를 발표한다.

 

인제대 글로컬대학 실행계획서 최종 보고에 이어 동부경남 3개 지자체와 5개 대학은 동부경남의 발전과 인재 육성, 산학 협력을 촉진하기 위해 평생교육체계를 구축하고 전략산업 분야 인력 양성 공동 노력, 글로컬대학 및 경남 RISE 사업 등의 협업을 통한 동부경남권 교육 혁신에 적극 협력키로 약속했다.

 

전민현 인제대 총장은 “이번 협약을 시작으로 동부경남 지자체와 대학의 교류를 강화해 상호 협력과 신뢰를 통해 지속가능한 발전을 이룰 수 있을 것”이며 “완성 단계에 와 있는 실행계획서를 잘 마무리지어 8월 말 글로컬대학 본지정까지 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

 

홍태용 김해시장은 “지난 1년 7개월간 김해시는 지,산,학이 원팀이 되어 ‘대학을 책임지는 도시, 도시를 책임지는 대학’이라는 원대한 계획을 그려왔으며 이번 협약을 통해 양산시와 밀양시를 포함한 동부경남도 그 꿈을 함께 할 수 있는 계기를 마련했다”며 “글로컬대학 사업을 통해 김해 뿐만 아니라 동부경남의 지역과 대학이 상생발전할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
