[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 저소득 청년 일자리 사업의 일환으로 청년층 자립을 위해 김해교육지원청 내에 김해지역자활센터의 새로운 자활사업장 ‘북카페 Fe’를 지난 29일 개점했다고 밝혔다.

북카페 Fe는 교육지원청 신청사 1층 165㎡(50평)를 무상 임대받아 시설을 설치해 운영은 김해지역자활센터 청년자립지원사업단 자활근로자 8명(현재 4명)의 참여로 이뤄지며 커피, 음료, 디저트류, 자활생산품을 판매하고 에코백, 전사컵, 업사이클링 등 다양한 청년층 체험, 문화활동을 함께 선보일 계획이다.

김해지역자활센터는 2000년 8월 개소한 이후 현재 16개의 자활근로사업단과 6개 자활기업을 운영해 저소득 주민 320명에게 맞춤형 자활지원 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이러한 노력으로 보건복지부 주관 ‘2023년 지역자활센터 성과평가’에서 우수기관으로 선정됐다.

홍태용 시장은 “저소득 청년에게 많은 기회가 절실한 시점에 사회활동에 참여할 수 있는 일자리를 제공하게 되어 매우 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 저소득층에 보다 나은 일자리를 제공할 수 있도록 적극 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
