[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] (재)김해문화관광재단이 시민 누구나 자유롭게 연주하고 감상할 수 있는 공공 피아노 프로젝트 ‘Play Me, 피아노 김해’를 확대 추진하며 생활 속 문화도시 조성에 나선다.

 

‘Play Me, 피아노 김해’는 가정에서 사용되지 않는 중고 업라이트 피아노를 기증받아 수리와 조율을 거친 뒤 공공장소에 설치하는 참여형 공공예술 사업이다. 시민이 연주자이자 관객이 되는 문화공간을 조성해 일상 속 문화예술 향유 기회를 넓히는 데 목적이 있다.

 

재단은 지난해 시범사업으로 기증받은 피아노 3대를 ▲김해서부문화센터 ▲김해문화의전당 ▲낙동강레일파크 와인동굴에 설치해 운영해 왔다. 공연이나 행사 중심이 아닌 시민들이 우연히 피아노를 만나고 자유롭게 연주하는 생활밀착형 문화 콘텐츠로 호응을 얻었다.

 

올해는 설치 장소를 확대하는 동시에 시민 참여형 공연과 SNS 이벤트, 업사이클링 프로젝트를 결합해 사업을 한층 발전시킬 계획이다. 특히 지역 작가와 대학생, 웹툰 작가 등이 참여해 노후 피아노를 조형물과 예술 작품으로 재해석하는 업사이클링 작업도 추진한다.

 

재단은 향후 유관기관과 지자체 협력을 통해 로비와 광장 등 활용도가 낮은 유휴공간을 발굴하고, 시민이 직접 참여하는 문화예술 공간으로 확대해 나갈 방침이다.

 

김영식 문화예술본부장은 “피아노 김해는 시민이 직접 문화예술의 주체가 되는 참여형 공공예술 프로젝트”라며 “일상 속에서 누구나 자연스럽게 예술을 즐길 수 있는 문화 환경을 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.

 

재단은 이번 사업이 공공시설 유휴공간에 새로운 활력을 불어넣는 것은 물론, 시민의 기부와 참여를 기반으로 한 지역 문화공동체 형성에도 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
