[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 20일 베트남 껀터시에서 열린 ‘2025 아시아 이스포츠대회’ 개막식에 공식 참석해 대회기를 인수하고, 오는 2026년 진주 개최 대회의 비전과 준비 방향을 국제사회에 소개했다.

 

이날 개막식은 오프닝 세레머니, 선수단 입장, 개회사와 축사, 차기 개최도시 소개, 대회기 이양식, 기념촬영 순으로 진행, 한국·중국·일본·필리핀 등 주요국 이스포츠 관계자들이 참석해 내년 진주 대회의 협력 방안과 운영 준비 상황을 논의했다.

 

조규일 진주시장은 개막식 연설에서 진주를 2026년 개최도시로 소개하며, “이스포츠는 글로벌 미래 산업이며 진주는 이번 대회를 통해 아시아 이스포츠 중심 도시로 도약할 것”이라며 문화·전통을 결합한 페스티벌형 대회 개최 의지를 밝혔다.
