[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 ‘물관리는 곧 하수관리’라는 정책 슬로건으로 공공하수처리 정책에 2500억원 이상을 투입해 선제적 행정으로 수질과 생활환경 개선에 앞장서고 있다.

 

시는 민선 7·8기 동안 135km 하수관로 정비와 대곡공공하수처리시설 증설 등 하수 인프라 개선에 1423억원을 집중 투입해 악취와 오염 문제 해소에 큰 성과를 냈다.

 

상평산단 노후 폐수관로는 국비 포함 432억원을 투입해 지반침하를 예방 중이며, GPR 조사로 침하 징후 발견 시 즉각 보수하는 등 선제적 대응이 눈길을 끈다.

 

시는 지난 2020년부터 오는 2026년까지 총 577억원을 들여 도심 내 32km 구간의 노후 하수관로를 단계적으로 정비, 도시 안전과 수질 개선을 동시에 추진 중이다.
