[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 25일 진주시동물보호센터에서 경상남도, 수의사회, 축협, 경상국립대 등과 함께 유기동물 및 소사육 농가를 대상으로 무료 합동 순회 진료를 실시했다.

이날 행사에는 수의사, 공무원, 수의대 학생 등 45명이 참여해 유기동물 280마리를 진료하고, 주요 질병 검사와 함께 인근 축산농가의 임상진료와 축사 소독도 진행했다.

이날 참가자들은 유기동물 입양을 독려하는 캠페인도 벌이며, 실습에 참여한 경상대 수의학과 학생은 반려문화 확산에 기여할 수 있어 뜻깊었다고 전했다.

조규일 시장은 “민관 협력으로 유기동물 보호와 축산농가 피해 예방에 힘쓸 것이다”며 지속적인 방역활동과 입양 연계에 최선을 다하겠다“고 말했다.

Forty-five veterinarians, government officials, and veterinary students participated in the event. They treated 280 abandoned animals, tested them for major diseases, provided clinical care for nearby livestock farms, and disinfected livestock sheds.

Participants also launched a campaign to encourage the adoption of abandoned animals. A Gyeongsang National University veterinary student who participated in the training expressed his gratitude for contributing to the spread of companion animal culture.
