[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 최근 진주지역에서 시청 공무원을 사칭한 보이스피싱 범죄가 잇따라 발생하고 있다. 

 

진주시는 관내 업체를 대상으로 한 구매대행 및 선금 요구 사기 수법이 확인됐다며 각별한 주의를 요청했다.

 

가해자는 진주시청 공무원을 사칭해 가짜 명함과 위조된 공문을 제시하고, 실제 공공사업과 유사한 명목으로 접근해 업체에 물품 구매대행을 요청하는 수법을 사용하고 있다.

 

대표 사례로, 한 인테리어 업체에 방화문 설치 관련 계약을 빌미로 접근한 뒤, 심장제세동기(AED) 구매를 대행해 달라고 요구했지만, 업체 대표가 의심을 품고 피해를 피했다.

 

또 다른 사례는 귀농·귀촌 지원 사업을 사칭해 묘목 구입을 언급하며, 2시간 뒤 입금하겠다는 조건으로 영농작업복 1350만원을 선결제 해달라는 시도가 있었다.

 

진주시가 확인한 결과, 사기범이 사용한 문서는 실제 시청 직인과 유사하게 위조됐고, 공문 형식도 공식 양식과 거의 흡사해 정식 문서로 착각할 수 있는 수준이다.

 

시는 이번 수법이 최근 다른 지자체에서 발생한 ‘공무원 사칭 물품 구매 사기’ 사례와 동일하며, 전국적으로 유사 범죄가 확산되고 있는 것으로 파악된다고 전했다.

 

진주시 관계자는 “공공기관은 절대 민간업체에 선결제나 구매대행을 요청하지 않는다”며 “이러한 요청이 있을 경우 반드시 기관에 직접 확인해야 한다”고 강조했다.
