권 의원은 지난 17일 경제복지여성위원회 행정사무감사에서 복지여성보건국에 이같이 주문했다.

현재 창원시 소아청소년과 전문의·의료기관 현황을 보면, 의창구·성산구 24곳에 51명의 전문의가 진료 중이며, 마산회원구·마산합포구에는 13곳에 37명, 진해구에는 11곳에 17명으로 집계됐다.

그러나 평일 야간과 휴일에 경증 소아 환자를 진료하는 달빛어린이병원은 창원권 1곳, 마산권 1곳만 있어 창원시가 진해권에도 달빛어린이병원 지정을 추진했으나 전문의를 구하지 못해 무산됐다.

권성현 의원은 양육 환경의 질을 높이기 위해 진해구민도 달빛어린이병원 이용할 수 있게 해야 한다는 취지로 “소아과 전문의를 확보할 수 있는 다양한 방안을 모색해야 할 것”이라고 말했다.
