거창군은 경남을 대표하는 정원인 거창창포원이 본격적인 여름꽃 시즌을 앞두고 황강수변정원 꽃단지의 재단장을 마치고 여름 정원 조성을 마무리했다고 19일 밝혔다. 

 

군은 지난 13일 황강을 따라 조성된 6,500㎡ 규모의 황강수변정원에 봄꽃을 정리한 뒤, 군 육묘장에서 직접 파종해 키운 백일홍 약 30만 본을 식재했다. 이와 함께 일부 구간에는 메밀을 직파해 한층 풍성한 여름 정원 분위기를 조성했다.

 

백일홍과 메밀꽃은 이르면 7월부터 개화가 예상되며, 형형색색의 꽃물결은 한여름 무더위를 식히는 특별한 볼거리로 정원을 찾는 방문객들에게 계절의 정취를 선사할 것으로 기대된다. 

 

백일홍 외에도 메리골드, 천일홍, 수국, 나리, 연꽃 등 다양한 여름꽃들이 순차적으로 개화를 앞두고 있으며, 창포원을 찾는 이들에게 시각적 즐거움과 여름의 감성을 전달할 전망이다.
