[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시와 인제대학교는 18일 오전 10시 미래자동차 버추얼센터에서 글로컬대학 현장캠퍼스 개소식을 개최했다. 

 

미래자동차 산업을 선도할 창의적 인재 양성과 지역산업 연계교육의 본격적인 출발을 알리는 자리로 홍태용 김해시장, 김정환 경남테크노파크 원장, 이대희 인제대학교 대외부총장을 비롯한 유관기관 관계자 20여 명이 참석했다. 

 

지난 4월 개소한 미래자동차 버추얼센터는 김해시 한림면 명동일반산업단지에 사업비 192억원을 투입해 조성됐다. 지상 3층 규모 건물에 섀시 부품(현가, 조향, 제동 등)의 디지털 모델 개발과 주행 성능 평가를 위한 첨단 장비 3종을 갖춰 지역 기업에 디지털 트윈 기술을 활용한 제품 성능 검증을 지원한다. 디지털 트윈 기술은 시제품 제작 단계에서 가상 주행 성능 평가를 진행할 수 있으며 센터 운영은 경남테크노파크가 한다. 

 

현장캠퍼스는 학생들이 직무 역량을 쌓고 지역에 정착해 성장할 수 있도록 지원하는 교육의 장이자 산학 공동연구와 기술교류가 이뤄지는 플랫폼으로 기능하게 된다. 미래자동차 버추얼센터는 80번째 현장캠퍼스로 인제대는 김해시 공공기관과 기업체를 비롯해서 창원·양산·부산의 산업체들과 협약을 맺고 현장 교육의 장을 넓혀가고 있다. 

 

이런 가운데 김해시는 1,200여 개의 자동차 부품기업이 밀집한 경남 최대 자동차산업 기반을 바탕으로, 내연기관 중심의 산업 구조를 미래차 중심의 산업 생태계로 전환하기 위한 전략적 대응을 이어가고 있다.

 

특히 미래자동차 산업은 김해시 5대 전략산업(의생명·의료기기, 디지털 물류, 스마트센서, 미래자동차, 지능형로봇) 중 하나로 한림면 명동산단 일원에 미래자동차 클러스터를 조성 중이다. 

 

김해시는 앞으로 착공할 열관리 지원센터, 디지털트윈 기술지원센터 등 기반시설을 바탕으로 김해를 미래차 산업의 디지털 전환 핵심거점으로 육성해 학생뿐 아니라 구직·재직자 모두가 참여할 수 있는 실습 기반의 현장 교육 생태계를 구축할 계획이다.

 

김정환 경남테크노파크 원장은 “미래자동차버추얼센터에서 학생들이 산업현장의 흐름과 기술을 실제로 체험할 수 있게 되어 매우 뜻깊다”며 “산업체와 교육기관, 지자체가 함께 만든 이 공간이 지역 인재 양성의 핵심 플랫폼으로 성장하길 기대한다”고 말했다.

 

이대희 인제대 대외부총장은 “인제대는 글로컬대학으로 선정된 이후, 산업현장을 기반으로 한 실무중심의 교육을 이어가고 있다”며 “앞으로도 김해시, 경남테크노파크와 함께 긴밀한 협력 속에서 학생과 기업, 지역이 함께 성장하는 교육생태계를 만들겠다”고 말했다. 

 

홍태용 시장은 “학생들이 이곳에서 양질의 커리큘럼과 지속적인 피드백을 경험하며 현장에 강한 인재로 성장하길 바란다”며 “이러한 경험이 학생들의 지역산업에 대한 관심과 이해로 이어져 전문 인력으로 성장하는 계기가 되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
