[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 18일 창원체육관에서 창원시장애인체육회와 16개 종목별 협회 주관으로 ‘제4회 창원특례시장배 장애인생활체육대회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 보치아, 슐런, 게이트볼, 플라잉디스크 등 개인 및 단체 10개 종목에 1,200명의 선수들이 참가하여 18일부터 21일까지 4일간 창원체육관과 곰두리체육관, 북면장애인파크골프장 등 관내 8개 체육시설에서 경기가 펼쳐진다. 

이날 행사에는 장금용 권한대행을 비롯해 도·시의원, 장애인협회, 가맹단체, 자원봉사자 및 선수단 800여 명이 참석한 가운데 생활체육을 통한 화합과 우정을 다지고, 창원시 장애인체육발전에 기여한 유공자 표창 수여와 선수단 선서 등으로 진행되었다. 

장금용 권한대행은 “이번 대회가 장애 유무에 관계 없이 서로 화합하고 소통하는 축제가 되길 바란다”며, “보다 안전한 환경에서 생활체육 활동을 즐길 수 있도록 시설을 개선하고 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
