▲ 국립창원대학교 인권센터는 17일 ‘인권지킴이 5기 발대식’을 개최했다.

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국립창원대학교 인권센터는 국립창원대 사회과학대학에서 ‘인권지킴이 5기 발대식’을 개최하고 본격적인 활동을 시작했다고 17일 밝혔다.

이번 발대식에서는 인권센터 소개와 활동 안내, 다양하고 안전한 활동을 위한 ‘약속 만들기’ 등이 진행됐다.

‘인권지킴이 양성 및 활동 프로그램’은 국립대학육성사업의 일환으로 추진되며, 학생 주도의 실천적 활동을 통해 대학 구성원들의 인권 인식을 제고하고 인권 친화적 캠퍼스 문화를 조성하기 위해 기획됐다.

국립창원대 인권지킴이 5기는 총 14명의 학생들로 구성되었으며, 워크숍과 교육을 통해 인권역량을 강화한 후 ▲대학 내 온라인 인권 모니터링 ▲인권 탐구 및 토론 ▲인권 프로그램 및 캠페인 기획·운영 등 다양한 활동을 펼치게 된다.

발대식에 참여한 한 학생은 “평소 막연한 관심에 머물렀던 인권에 대해 이번 활동을 통해 깊이 있게 알아갈 수 있는 기회가 될 것 같아 지원하게 되었다”며, “특히 온라인을 포함한 대학 내 인권 문제를 직접 모니터링하고 토론을 통해 대안을 모색하는 과정이 기대된다“고 소감을 전했다. 이어 ”함께 시작하는 학우들과 ‘안전한 활동을 위한 약속’을 만들었던 것처럼, 앞으로도 일상에서 인권을 실천하는 지킴이로서 역할을 해나가겠다“는 포부를 밝혔다.
