[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 창원컨벤션센터(CECO)에서 열리는 캠핑 박람회에서 캠핑카 이용객과 방문 시민을 대상으로 의창구(42면), 진해구(41면)에 각각 조성되는 ‘캠핑카 전용 유료 공영주차장’을 적극 홍보한다고 13일 밝혔다. 

 

이번 주차장 조성은 최근 증가하는 캠핑용 RV와 트레일러로 인해 도심 내 장기주차, 불법 주정차, 이른바 ‘알박기’ 문제 등으로 시민 불편과 민원이 급증한 데 따른 대책이다.

 

그동안 창원시 주요 해안도로와 공영주차장, 주거지 인근에서 캠핑카의 장기주차로 인한 일반 차량 주차 공간 부족, 도시 미관 저해, 악취 등 다양한 문제가 지속적으로 제기되어 왔다. 특히, 무료 공영주차장에 한 달 이상 방치된 차량에 대해서는 단속이 어려워 실효성 있는 관리 방안 마련의 필요성이 지속적으로 제기되어 왔다.

 

시는 이번 전용 주차장 조성을 통해 캠핑카 이용자에게는 안전하고 쾌적한 전용 주차 공간을 제공하고, 일반 시민에게는 주차장 이용 불편 해소와 쾌적한 도시 환경 조성에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다. 해당 주차장은 2025년 8월 말 준공 예정이며, 무료 시범운영 후 유료화된다.
