▲ 13일 경상국립대학교 생물산업기계공학과 재학생을 대상으로 ‘미리 걷는 과학자의 길’ 1차 탐방 프로그램을 진행했다.

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도가 주최하고, 경남테크노파크 경남과학문화거점센터가 주관하는 ‘미리 걷는 과학자의 길’ 1차 탐방 프로그램이 13일 경상국립대학교 생물산업기계공학과 재학생 30명을 대상으로 진행됐다.

 

본 프로그램은 과학기술정보통신부와 한국과학창의재단, 경상남도의 공동 재원을 기반으로 하는 ‘지역과학문화 역량강화사업’의 일환으로 마련됐으며, 경남 지역 학생들이 도내 첨단과학기술 기반시설을 직접 체험하며, 과학기술 분야 진로에 대한 이해를 높이고 실제 산업현장의 최신 동향을 경험할 수 있도록 기획됐다.

 

참가 학생들은 경남TP의 고청정합금소재부품연구생산동과 파워유닛 스마트제조센터 사업화지원동을 차례로 견학했는데, 이 과정에서 첨단 소재·부품 개발 과정과 스마트 제조 시스템에 대한 설명을 듣고 연구시설을 직접 둘러보는 시간을 가졌다.

 

탐방 프로그램에 참가한 A 학생은 “이번 탐방을 통해 경남에도 첨단 과학기술 기반시설이 다양하게 구축되어 있다는 사실에 놀랐다”면서 “직접 탐방하면서 지역의 과학기술 수준에 대한 자부심이 생겼고, 진로 결정에도 큰 도움이 될 것 같다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

 

김정환 경남TP 원장은 “지역 과학기술기관의 역할을 알리고 첨단 과학기술 연구 과정 현장을 직접 확인할 수 있는 본 프로그램이 지역 학생들의 진로 탐색에 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

 

한편, ‘미리 걷는 과학자의 길’ 탐방프로그램은 올해 총 10회에 걸쳐 경남 지역의 과학기술 기반 산업 현장 탐방을 중심으로 진행될 예정이다. 도내 과학문화 소외계층, 청소년, 대학생 등 다양한 계층 대상으로 맞춤형 탐방 프로그램을 제공할 계획이다.
