[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 장애인 자립지원 시범사업을 통해 24년 3월 1호 독립을 시작으로 현재까지 8명의 대상자가 자립에 성공했다고 밝혔다.

장애인 자립지원 시범사업은 2023년 7월 보건복지부 공모사업에 선정되어, 경상남도 내에서 거창군이 유일하게 추진 중인 사업이다. 

이 사업은 장애인의 주거결정권을 보장하고, 개인별 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 서비스를 제공함으로써 지역사회에서 독립적인 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

이번에 독립을 성공한 대상자는 주거지원과 취업 연계 등 다양한 지원을 통해 지역사회에 적응하고 자신감을 얻어 3월부터 독립생활을 시작했다. 군은 12명의 자립을 목표로 하고 있다.

구인모 거창군수는 “장애인 자립지원 시범사업의 성공적인 독립 사례가 장애인들이 지역사회에서 보통의 삶을 살아가는 데 중요한 이정표가 될 것”이라며 “더 많은 장애인이 ‘거창한 자립’을 실현할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
