▲ 김해시, 제14회 서울국제조각페스타 참여

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 6일부터 9일까지 서울 코엑스에서 열리는 제14회 서울국제조각페스타 2025에 참여한다고 밝혔다.

 

서울국제조각페스타는 중견작가, 청년작가, 기업, 지자체를 비롯한 국내외 조각가들이 참여하는 국내 최대 조각축제이자 아트페어로 한국조각가협회가 주최하고 국제조각페스타 운영위원회가 주관해 2011년부터 개최되고 있다.

 

이번 기간 김해시는 전시 부스에서 심사를 거쳐 선정된 14명의 지역 작가 작품 26점을 선보인다.

 

부스는 문화와 예술이 특정 공간에 머무르지 않고 지역 곳곳에서 만나고 소통해야 한다는 김해시립김영원미술관의 철학과 가치를 자연스럽게 전달할 수 있도록 기획, 운영된다.

 

김해시립김영원미술관은 김해종합운동장 내 복합미술관으로 4개 층, 연면적 5,760㎡ 규모로 2026년 3월 개관 예정이며 김해시는 미술관이 도시의 매력을 극대화하고 시민의 일상 속에 스며드는 문화 허브로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 개관 이전부터 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다.

 

배선영 문화관광국장은 “올해 시군 통합 30주년을 맞아 김해시의 미래 30년을 준비하는 시점에서 김해시립김영원미술관은 문화의 중심에서 대전환의 토대를 마련하는 중요한 역할을 할 것”이라며 “이번 전시 참여는 김해시의 문화 비전을 전국에 알리는 중요한 첫걸음”이라고 강조했다.

 

한편 이번 서울국제조각페스타는 국내외 참여 작가를 공모해 20여 개 부스에 300여명의 작가들이 참여하며, 원로조각가특별전, 신진작가특별전, 중국청년조각 특별전, 후원기업 특별전, 지방자치단체관, 문화재단관 등이 운영된다.
