[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시 진영읍의 새로운 랜드마크가 될 '진영 빛 어울림센터'가 본격적인 조성 단계에 돌입했다.

7일 김해시에 따르면 낙후된 구도심을 활성화하기 위해 지난 2019년부터 시행하고 있는 도시재생사업의 주요 거점시설로 2024년 준공한 상생주차타워와 함께 복합문화시설인 빛 어울림센터를 조성 중으로 지난해 12월 착공해 2026년 3월 준공 목표로 본격 추진 중이다.

진영 빛 어울림센터는 문화와 세대 간 소통이 공존하는 복합공간으로 다양한 활동을 지원하고 전통시장과의 연계 개발을 통한 상권 활성화를 목표로 한다.

진영리 246-1번지 일원 지상 5층, 연면적 2,895㎡ 규모로 진영아이꿈센터, 진영시니어센터, 진영인물 북카페, 특산품과 로컬푸드 판매장, 청년노하우센터 등이 들어설 예정이다.

김해시 관계자는 “진영 빛 어울림센터는 여가, 취미, 문화, 복지 프로그램이 가능한 복합문화시설로 주민 삶을 풍요롭게 하고 낙후된 도심의 기능회복을 위한 중요한 거점이 될 것”이라며 “2026년까지 차질 없이 사업을 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
