[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 23일부터 오는 4월 24일까지 브라질의 수도 브라질리아에서 ‘한국의 빛 - 진주실크등’전시를 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

 

이번 전시는 브라질리아의 비영리기관 FEICOTUR 주최로, 브라질리아 특별자치구와 주브라질한국문화원의 후원으로 진행된다.

 

진주실크등 전시는 2023년 상파울루와 2024년 니테로이, 리우데자네이루에 이어 세 번째로 브라질에서 개최된다.

 

이번 전시는 1200여 개의 진주실크등으로 장식된 실크등 터널과 함께 진주남강유등축제 홍보관, 한복 체험 공간 등을 마련해 현지 관람객들의 시선을 사로잡을 예정이다. 

 

또 진주실크등은 섬세한 디자인과 화려한 빛을 통해 한국의 전통미와 아름다움을 선보이는 대표적인 문화재로, 많은 관심을 모을 것으로 예상된다.

 

주브라질 한국문화원 김철홍 원장은 “지난 2년 동안 진주실크등 전시에 대한 브라질 현지의 열광적인 반응에 힘입어, 이번 전시도 개최하게 됐다”는 기획의도를 밝혔다. 

 

이어 그는 “한국의 아름다움을 전 세계에 소개할 수 있는 기회가 되어 매우 기쁘다”는 소감을 전했다.

 

조규일 진주시장은 “앞으로도 진주실크등, 진주남강유등축제 등으로 대표되는 진주시 고유 문화관광 콘텐츠를 전 세계에 홍보하고 알리기 위해 최선을 다 하겠다”고 말했다.

 

한편 진주시의 한국의 빛–진주실크등 전시는 지난 2023년 상파울루에서 11만명, 지난해 니테로이·리우데자네이루에서 12만명 이상의 현지 관람객을 유치하는 등 큰 성공을 거둔 바 있다.
