▲ 제33회 동서미술상 시상식 개최

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 제33회 동서미술상 시상식이 11일 성산아트홀 제1전시실에서 열렸다

 

이날 시상식에서 올해 본상 수상자는 배용근 작가(서양화), 창작상은 최광호 작가(사진), 공로상은 박춘성 작가(서양화)로 선정됐다. 

 

배용근 작가는 미술교사로 재직하면서 1998년 개인전을 시작으로 20년 넘게 지역을 기반으로 활발하게 작가 활동을 하고 있다. 

 

최광호 작가는 기존의 틀을 깨는 호방함으로 누구에게도 영향을 받지 않는 독창적인 작품이 특징이다. 

 

박춘성 작가는 동서미술상 초기 기금마련 전시회 개최 준비 및 향토적이고 목가적인 작품활동을 통해 지역 문화 예술 발전에 기여한 공로로 선정됐다.

 

시상식 후 제32회 본상 수상자 임덕현 작가 초대전도 주목을 끌었다. 

 

주로 자연을 모티브로 아름다움을 표현하는 임덕현 작가의 초대전은 12월 11일부터 16일까지 성산아트홀 제1전시실에서 개최할 예정이다.

 

한편 동서미술상은 마산 동서화랑 故 송인식 관장이 1990년 사재 1억 원을 출현하여 제정한 도내 첫 민간 미술상이다. 

 

지역 문화 황금기를 누렸던 1990년 시작되어 올해 33회째 시상하는 동서미술상은 30년간 민간에서 운영해오다 송인식 관장의 업적을 기리고 역량 있는 미술 작가들의 창작 환경을 만들어 주고자 2022년부터 창원시에서 시상하고 있다.
