[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 10일 도청 대강당에서 ‘2024 경상남도 자원봉사자대회’를 개최하고, 올 한 해 경남을 빛낸 자원봉사자를 격려하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.

 

올해로 19회째를 맞는 ‘자원봉사자대회’는 자원봉사자의 날을 기념함으로써 자원봉사자의 자긍심을 높이고 도민들의 관심과 참여를 이끌기 위해 마련됐다.

 

이날 행사는 박완수 경상남도지사, 최학범 도의회의장, 주강홍 (사)경상남도 자원봉사센터 이사장, 전지수 경상남도 자원봉사협의회장을 비롯해 자원봉사자 700여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다. 도민가왕전 입상자들의 식전 공연을 시작으로 유공자 시상, 대회사, 격려사, 퍼포먼스 등의 순서로 행사가 펼쳐졌다.

 

박완수 경남지사는 격려사에서 “올 한 해 전국체전뿐만 아니라 지역의 어려운 현장마다 아름다운 봉사로 든든한 버팀목이 되어주셔서 감사하다”며 “경남도는 자원봉사자 여러분의 따뜻한 마음과 헌신을 원동력 삼아 희망이 넘치는 행복한 경남을 열어가겠다”고 말했다.

자원봉사 유공자 시상에는 나눔‧봉사의 문화 확산과 따뜻한 사회 분위기 조성에 기여한 공로로 경상남도자원봉사센터 김해문 사무처장이 대통령 표창을, 김재학, 배경희 씨와 (사)한국해양구조협회 경남서부지부 통영구조대가 국무총리 표창을 받았으며, 경남여성리더봉사단이 행정안전부장관 표창을 수상하는 등 자원봉사자와 단체를 포함해 총 170명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.

 

이중, ‘경상남도 자원봉사상’은 이웃사랑을 실천하고 행복한 사회를 만드는 데 기여한 자원봉사자에게 수여되는 최고의 상으로, 봉사자, 봉사단체, 봉사관리자, 봉사기업 등 4개 부문에서 각각 1점씩 선정됐다.
