[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 조규일 진주시장은 10일 ‘석갑산 편백림 산림공원 조성사업’ 현장을 방문해 사업 진행 상황을 점검하고, 다양한 시설을 확인했다고 밝혔다.

석갑산은 이현동, 평거동, 신안동 주민들이 가장 선호하는 산으로, 시는 편백 숲을 약 30억원을 들여 매입 완료하고 공원조성 사업을 추진하고 있다. 

석갑산은 숲속 데크로드 300m, 황톳길 200m, 목재편책 550m, 목교 등의 시설물을 설치했으며, 맨발 걷기를 활성화하기 위한 세족장도 설치될 예정이다.

조규일 시장은 “석편백숲의 조성은 단순한 산림공원 조성을 넘어 지역 주민들의 삶의 질을 향상시키고, 자연과의 조화를 이루는 중요한 사업이다”고 말했다.
