[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시가 도시경관과 시민 안전을 위하여 가로등 현수기의 위탁을 통한 체계적 관리를 추진한다고 10일 밝혔다.

 

가로등 현수기 관리와 관련하여 기존에는 구청 건축허가과를 통해 신고하고, 현수기 게시 후 게시 기간이 만료해도 미철거한 사례 등 관리 미흡으로 인한 도시미관 저해와 시민 안전사고 우려가 있었다.

 

이에 시는 가로등 현수기를 신속하고 효율적으로 관리하기 위하여 인력 및 장비 등 체계적인 관리능력을 갖춘 기관(단체)에 관리·운영 민간위탁을 추진하게 됐다.  

 

지난 8월 말에 사업 추진을 위한 보조사업자로 (사)경남옥외광고협회 창원특례시지부를 공모 선정했다.

 

또한 지난 9월부터 11월까지는 수탁기관이 가로등 현수기의 성공적인 관리·운영을 위하여 관내 가로등주 전수 조사와 전산 관리번호 부여, 시스템 구축 등의 활동을 했으며, 12월 중 시범운영을 통하여 미비한 점을 보완하고, 2025년 1월에 본격적인 운영을 개시할 예정이다.    

 

한편, 민간위탁은 △ 가로등 현수기 신고 접수 및 게첨, 제거 △ 가로등 현수기 시설 유지 보수 관리 △ 재해예방을 위한 시설물 안전점검 △ 태풍과 호우 등 재해 발생 시 장비·인력 지원 등을 포함한다.

 

박현호 도시정책국장은 “장비와 인력을 갖춘 민간위탁자가 가로등 현수기를 관리하게 돼 가로등 현수기에 대한 전문성과 효율성이 높아질 것으로 기대하고 있다”며, “수탁기관과 협력해 주민 불편 없는 깨끗한 도시환경을 제공하는데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
