▲ 거창군, 폐기물처리시설 운영실태평가 ‘최우수’ 수상

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 28일 환경부가 주관하고 한국환경공단이 시행한 ‘2024년 폐기물처리시설 운영·실태 평가’에서 전국 최우수시설로 선정되어 환경부 장관상과 함께 최우수시설 인증 현판, 포상금 300만 원을 수상했다.

이번 평가는 48톤/일 미만 소각시설 51개소를 대상으로 실시됐으며, 거창군은 소각열을 활용한 에너지 증대 노력과 국민체육센터 에너지 공급, 환경오염물질 배출현황 정보 제공 등에서 높은 평가를 받았고, 소각시설 효율성과 친환경적인 유지관리에서도 우수성을 인정받았다.

구인모 군수는 “소각시설은 주민 생활과 밀접한 중요한 시설인 만큼 세밀한 관리와 친환경적인 운영이 필요하다”라며 “이번 수상은 공무원과 관계자들의 체계적이고 안정적인 운영관리 노력 덕분”이라며 노고를 격려했다.
