[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 풋살을 주제로 인기리에 방영 중인 '골때리는 그녀들'이라는 예능 프로그램의 인기 상승으로 스포츠 종목 풋살이 그동안의 서러움을 떨치고 당당히 주류 대열에 이름을 올렸다는 것을 실감할 수 있었다.

따뜻한 주말을 맞은 23일 창원시 곳곳에서는 다양한 풋살대회가 열렸는데, '2024창원교육지원청 학교스포츠클럽 한마당' 풋살대회가 가음정 못안구장에서 열렸으며, 경남 장애인 어울림 풋살대회가 마산 회성동 BJ풋살장에서 열렸다.

창원교육지원청이 주최하고 창원시풋살연맹의 주관으로 창원시 관내 남여 중학생들을 대상으로 열린 이번 대회는 총 24개팀이 참가했으며, 그중 4개팀은 성지여중, 양곡중, 안남중학교에서 참가한 여성팀으로 그동안 갈고닦은 기량을 마음껏 발휘했다.

그동안 학교라는 갇힌 공간에서 활동하던 학생들이 주말을 맞아 소풍가는 마음으로 대회에 참가했다는 학생들은 한목소리로 기쁨을 발산하며 놀이같은 대회에 참가해 그동안 학교생활에서 쌓였던 스트레스르를 날려버렸다며 기뻐했다. 또 대회에 참가한 학생들의 손에는 휴대폰이 아닌 풋살공이 대신하고 있어 교육적인 차원에서도 긍정적인 희망을 볼 수 있었다.

 

하지만 대회를 주최한 창원시교육지원청이 보여준 프로그램 운영 능력에는 다소 아쉬움을 드러냈다. 다양한 경험을 통해 많은 것을 보고 배워야 할 학생들에게 대회를 치르는 목적과 대회를 통해 교육청이 아이들에게 어떤 메세지를 전달하고자 하는 지에 대한 교육 가치보다 교육청에서 치러야 할 프로그램 하나를 치렀다는 인상이  남는다.

한편 경상남도의 후원으로 경남 장애인 어울림 풋살대회가 많은 우여곡절 끝에 처음으로 마산 BJ풋살장에서 열렸는데, 장애인들의 야외활동을 보장하고 이를 통해 다양한 경험을 해주게 하고 싶었다는 관계자의 말속에서 준비하는 동안 많은 어려움과 장벽이 있었다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
