[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 6.25 전쟁 참전유공 전사자인 故이쾌기 육군 하사의 며느리 최혜련 씨에게 국방부를 대신해 최고의 예우를 갖춰 화랑무공훈장을 전수했다고 7일 밝혔다.

 

이날 훈장 전수는 6.25전쟁 당시 무공훈장 서훈 대상자로 결정되었으나, 여러 가지 사정으로 훈장을 받지 못한 유공자를 찾아 무공훈장을 수여하는 국방부의 ‘6.25전쟁 무공훈장 찾아주기’ 사업으로 이뤄졌다.

 

고 이쾌기 육군 하사는 1950년 9월 28일, 당시 스물일곱 살의 나이로 6.25 전쟁에 참전해 멸공 전선에서 제반 애로를 극복하고 헌신 분투하여 발군의 무공을 세우며 1955년 4월 8일 제대했다. 

 

이후 국방부와 육군으로부터 무공훈장 수여 대상자로 결정되었으나, 무공훈장을 수여 받지 못했는데, 국방부의 ‘6.25전쟁 무공훈장 찾아주기’ 사업을 통해 그 공적을 인정받아 유족 대표인 며느리(최혜련씨)가 대신 수령했다.
