[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시가 소아환자 진료 공백 최소화 방안 마련을 위해 31일 관내 6개 아동병원장과 간담회를 가졌다.

 

김해는 중앙병원이 야간, 휴일에도 소아환자를 진료하는 달빛어린이병원으로 보건복지부 지정을 받아 지난 2014년 11월부터 운영해오다 코로나19 발생으로 2020년 2월 소아청소년과 전문의가 퇴사하면서 달빛어린이병원 운영이 중단된 상태다.

 

올 4월말 기준 김해시 18세 이하 아동 인구는 9만5,161명으로 총 인구의 17.8%를 차지한다.

 

전공의 지원 격감으로 전문의 확보가 어려운데다 야간, 휴일 근무 기피 현상으로 인해 시의 달빛어린이병원 운영과 진료시간 연장 동참 요구에 미온적일 수 밖에 없다.

 

이 때문에 시는 지난 4월 아동병원장과의 1대1 방문 면담을 한 데 이어 이번 간담회에는 홍 시장이 직접 참석해 아동병원장들과 소아환자 진료 공백 최소화 방안을 논의했다.

 

홍 시장은 “우리 시는 출산 장려와 저출산 문제 해결을 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있지만 야간, 휴일 소아환자 진료 공백으로 애타는 부모 심정을 헤아려 달빛어린이병원 운영에 적극 동참해 달라”고 당부했다.

 

이런 가운데 현재 김해아동병원이 달빛어린이병원 신청 계획서를 제출해 심사결과가 경남도에 제출됐으며 이르면 이달 초 달빛어린이병원 지정이 예상된다.

 

달빛어린이병원 지정권자는 앞서 보건복지부에서 광역자치단체로 완화 변경됐다.

 

김해아동병원이 달빛어린이병원으로 지정되면 일부요일제 운영 방식으로 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 운영하게 된다.

 

달빛어린이병원은 야간, 휴일 소아경증환자에게 신속한 외래진료서비스를 제공해 응급실 경증환자를 분산시키고 응급실 이용에 따른 불편과 비용 부담을 줄일 수 있다.

 

정부는 전국 34개인 달빛어린이병원을 100개까지 확충하고 수가 개선, 운영비 일부 지원방안을 골자로 한 ‘소아의료체계 개선대책’을 지난 2월 발표한 바 있다.

 

경남에는 달빛어린이병원이 창원 2곳, 통영 1곳, 거제 2곳 총 5곳이 있다.
