[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍남표 창원특례시장은 민선8기 실질적 원년을 맞아 1일 의창구 방문을 시작으로 ‘2023 창원특례시 시민과의 대화’를 5개 권역에서 개최한다.
특히 이번 시민과의 대화는 기존 방식에서 탈피해, 홍남표 시장이 올해 시정운영 방향에 대해 시민에게 설명하고, 시민 건의사항도 현장에서 받아 즉석에서 답변해 시민들의 궁금증을 풀어줄 계획이다.
의창구 경남과학기술에너지센터에서 열린 첫 번째 시민과의 대화에는 자생단체, 기업체, 자영업자 등 시민 300여 명이 참석해, 현장의 목소리를 생생하게 들려 주었다.
이날 시민과의 대화를 시작하기에 앞서 홍남표 시장은 민선 8기 시정 비전과 주요 성과, 2023년 시정 운영 방향, 지역의 주요 현안 사업에 대해 시민에게 직접 설명했다.
특히, 지역의 화두로 떠오른 그린벨트 해제, 제동지구 택지 개발, 원이대로 S-BRT 사업 추진에 관한 사항 등 시민이 묻고 홍 시장은 즉답을 통해 소통하는 시간을 가졌다.

홍남표 창원특례시장은 “2023년을 ‘미래 50년을 위한 혁신 성장의 기틀을 완성하는 해’로 정하고, 국가산단 2.0 유치를 통해 제조산업의 혁신과 미래 먹거리를 확보하는 등 경제 활성화를 통해 시민이 체감할 수 있는 혁신적인 성과를 만들어나가겠다”고 밝히고 많은 관심과 적극적인 참여를 당부했다.
이어 “시민과의 대화를 통해 다양한 의견을 들을 수 있었다”며 “건의해주신 소중한 의견 하나하나 시정에 반영될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
시민과의 대화에 참여한 시민들은 “시장님께서 시민의 목소리를 적극적으로 듣고 시민의 불편사항과 생활국면 요구사항을 시민의 입장에서 해소하려고 노력하시는 모습을 보니 우리 시의 미래가 기대된다”며 말했다.
