[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 법무부창원출입국외국인사무소 사회통합위원회는 지난 12일 외국인근로자, 다문화가정, 유학생 등 60여 명이 거제도 일원을 탐방했다고 14일 밝혔다.

사회통합위원회는 창원시에 거주하는 외국인 등과 지속적인 소통의 일환으로 한국문화탐방 프로그램을 진행하고 있다.

이번 탐방을 통해 외국인들이 창원에 거주하면서도 외국인이라는 이유로 소외되지 않도록 위원회는 각별히 관심을 가지고 있다고 관계자는 밝혔다.

특히 위원회는 창원으로 들어오는 외국인들이 친근한 모습으로 다가올 수 있도록 이미 이곳에 있는 외국인들의 입소문이 중요하다며 입소문이 잘 날수 있도록 낮설지 않은 환경 조성을 위해 최선을 다하고 있다고 말하고 있다.

이번 탐방에 함께한 외국인들은 마치 형제처럼 보살펴주신 사회통합위원회에 감사를 전하고, 늘 우리에게 따뜻하게 전해주신 마음을 외국에 있는 가족과 친구들에게 전해 한국에서 받은 사랑을 기억하겠다고 말했다.

박두양 사회통합위원장은 "우리도 외국에 나가면 고국이 그리워지듯 이분들도 늘 고국이 그리울 것이다" 며 "이곳에 있는 동안 외로움을 달래 드리고 형제처럼 지낼 수 있도록 그들의 눈높이에서 바라보는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 그들의 입장에서 소통할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
