[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 경남관광재단과 함께 경남만의 차별화된 매력을 품은 특색 있는 행사장소인 ‘2022 경남 유니크베뉴’ 25개소를 공모로 선정했다고 8일 밝혔다.

유니크베뉴(이색 회의명소)는 MICE 회의를 개최할 때 전통적인 회의시설인 컨벤션센터, 호텔 연회장 등 전문적인 회의 시설은 아니지만 지역의 독특한 정취와 색다른 매력을 느낄 수 있는 장소를 일컫는다.

경남관광재단은 지난 7월 공모를 통해 기존 및 신규 신청받은 총 36개소를 대상으로 1차 서류심사, 2차 전문가 현장심사를 거쳐 최종 25개소의 유니크베뉴를 지정했다. 

기존에 지정된 유니크베뉴 21개소 중 16개소는 재지정 됐으며, 시설여건, 접근성, 정체성 등을 종합적으로 평가해 9개소가 신규로 지정됐다.

경남관광재단은 이번에 선정된 2022 경남 유니크베뉴 25개소에 대해 8일 인증패를 수여하고, 온라인 홍보, 홍보용 사진촬영 등 다양한 혜택을 지원한다.

아울러 8일부터 10일까지, 3일간 각 유니크베뉴의 책임자를 대상으로 역량강화 교육을 실시하며, 브랜드를 위한 유니크베뉴 마케팅, 장소에 가치를 더하는 스토리텔링 기법 등 업무에 적용 가능한 다양한 주제의 교육과 전문가 멘토링을 지원해 향후 한국관광공사에서 주관하는 ‘코리아 유니크베뉴’에 선정될 수 있도록 시설과 실무 책임자의 역량을 강화해 나갈 계획이다.

정연두 경남관광재단 사무국장은 “독특하고 새로운 회의 장소를 찾는 수요와 코로나19 이후 변화된 소규모 행사(Small Meeting) 개최 수요를 모두 충족할 수 있는 곳이 유니크베뉴”라며 “다양한 형태의 유니크베뉴를 지속적으로 발굴하고 육성해 경남의 MICE 경쟁력을 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
