오웅근 기자는 2021년 11월 6일, 안민고개 만날제에서 안민고개의 유래를 시조창의 판소리로 구성했다.

러무용단(단장 박지민)의 춤사위와 송민정(국가무형문화재5호) 진해국악예술단장의 판소리로 흥을 더한 마당극 ‘안민고개 호롱달빛’, 시나리오를 작성하고 나래이션을 직접 하는 등 행사를 기획했다.

그는 문화예술 축제행사 등에서 늘 “무엇으로 진화하고 풍성할 수 있을지” 진단하며 고뇌했다고 회고했다.

 

자신의 저서 ‘오웅근의 취재수첩’에시도 언론이 문화를 견인하고, 상호보완적 역할을 다하는 일이 매우 중요하다는 사실을 강조하기도 했다.

오는 11월이면 진해안젤루스소년소녀합창단(단장 지연숙) 창단 20주년을 맞는다. 지연숙 단장 겸 지휘자는 “합창단 창단 연주회 때부터 20년을 한결 같이 저희 합창단을 취재한 분”이라며 “당시 기자의 권유로 안젤루스소년소녀합창단과 동강생이 국악예술단을 한 무대 위에 올려 현대음악과 국악과의 만남이란 유래 없는 실험무대를 열기도 했다”고 회고했다.

공연기획자이자 코리아기획사 대표인 강정숙씨는 “소외된 어린이들을 위해 손수 제작한 인형과 대본으로 희망원과 보육원 등을 다니면서 인형극 공연을 펼치고, 진해의 연례적인 행사인 ‘안골포 해전극’ 공연의 연기지도와 무대해설로 힘을 북돋워 줬다”며 회상했다.

이밖에도 오 기자는 오는 10일 진해드림로드 일원에서 열리는 제12회 진해만 생태숲 걷기대회를 경남도민일보사 제직 중 창안하고, ‘계간 진해’ 소속 진해어린이기자단이 방학기간을 이용해 기자교육을 펼치는 등 많은 발자취를 남겼다.
