[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경남도지사가 연일 이어지는 폭염 속에서 독거노인과 이동노동자 등 폭염 취약계층을 찾아 현장 대응 상황을 점검하고 기후재난 취약계층 보호 강화를 강조했다.

 

박 지사는 7일 창원시 마산합포구 추산동 주거 취약지역을 방문해 노인맞춤돌봄서비스와 응급안전안심서비스를 이용 중인 독거노인 가구의 냉방시설과 주거환경을 살피고 생활 불편사항을 청취했다.

 

이어 교방 장수경로당 무더위쉼터를 찾아 냉방시설 운영 상황과 이용 실태를 점검하고 폭염 시 야외활동 자제를 당부했다. 경로당 앞까지 마을버스를 운행해 달라는 주민 건의에 대해서는 창원시와 함께 저상버스 운행 방안을 검토해 줄 것을 요청했다.

 

경남도는 폭염특보 발령 시 노인맞춤돌봄서비스 고위험군을 대상으로 매일 전화 또는 방문을 통해 안부를 확인하고 있으며, 중대경보 발령 때는 하루 두 차례 이상 안전을 확인하는 등 대응체계를 운영하고 있다. 또 도내 경로당과 마을회관 등 무더위쉼터 8,200곳에 냉방비 8억2천만 원을 긴급 지원했으며, 주요 쉼터 338곳은 오후 10시까지, 318곳은 주말에도 개방하고 있다.

이후 박 지사는 마산합포구 오동동 문화광장에 마련된 이동노동자 간이쉼터를 방문해 냉방시설과 운영 현황을 점검했다. 해당 쉼터는 배달종사자와 대리운전기사 등이 이용할 수 있도록 24시간 연중무휴로 운영되며 냉방기기와 안마의자 등을 갖추고 있다.
