해바라기 군락은 물금서부지하차도를 통해 황산어선선착장 인근 공원주차장에 진입한 뒤 강변 산책로를 따라 이동하면 감상할 수 있다. 개화 기간은 약 20일로, 품종별 개화 시기가 달라 광복절 연휴까지는 꽃을 즐길 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

황산공원은 가을꽃 명소 조성도 준비하고 있다. 9월 중순부터는 해바라기 단지 맞은편 약 6,000평 부지에 코스모스가 개화할 예정이며, 중부광장 일원에서는 약 4,500평 규모의 댑싸리도 함께 관람할 수 있다.
