▲ 하동군-국립창원대, AI·로봇 기반 지역혁신 협력…하동캠퍼스 추진 본격화

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 하동군과 국립창원대학교가 인공지능(AI)과 로봇 기술을 기반으로 한 지역혁신과 미래산업 육성을 위해 협력체계를 구축했다.

 

하동군은 지난 6일 국립창원대학교에서 'Human Physical AI 기반 지역혁신 및 공동 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)'을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 협약식에는 김현수 하동군수와 박민원 국립창원대학교 총장, 서천호 국회의원, 강희순 하동군의회 의장 등이 참석했다.

 

이번 협약은 제조·농업·물류 등 산업 현장에 AI와 로보틱스를 접목하고, 하동군 특화산업과 연계한 산학협력 모델을 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.

 

양 기관은 ▲Human Physical AI·로봇 분야 교육·연구 ▲지역특화산업 연계 공동사업 발굴 ▲정부 연구개발(R&D) 및 재정지원사업 공동 추진 ▲산학협력과 기업 유치 ▲AI 기반 실증 플랫폼 구축 ▲전문인력 양성 등에 협력하기로 했다.

 

또 협약의 실행력을 높이기 위해 실무협의체와 공동 태스크포스(TF)를 구성·운영하고, 국비 확보 등 사업 추진에 필요한 재원 마련에도 공동 대응할 계획이다.

 

하동군은 이번 협약을 계기로 추진 중인 하동캠퍼스 조성에도 속도를 내고, 첨단 교육·연구 인프라 확충과 기업 유치를 통해 청년 유출과 지역소멸 대응 기반을 마련한다는 구상이다.

 

김현수 하동군수는 "이번 협약은 하동이 미래 첨단산업 거점으로 도약하는 계기가 될 것"이라며 "Human Physical AI와 로봇 분야 인프라 구축, 지역혁신 사업 추진을 적극 지원하겠다"고 말했다.
