[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 폭염으로 가축의 폐사 피해가 우려됨에 따라 닭과 오리를 사육하는 가금농가를 대상으로 면역증강제(스트레스 완화제)를 긴급 지원한다고 3일 밝혔다.

닭과 오리 등 가금류는 폭염에 취약해 장기간 고온에 노출되면 생체 대사 불균형과 면역력 저하, 생산성 감소는 물론 집단 폐사까지 이어질 수 있어 선제적인 대응이 필요하다.

이에 시는 5000마리 이상 닭과 오리를 사육하는 농가를 대상으로 면역증강제를 긴급 지원하고, 폭염으로 인한 가축 피해를 줄이기 위한 예방 대책과 현장 지원을 추진할 방침이다.

또 시는 축산농가에 축사 환기시설과 냉방장치의 정상 가동 및 점검, 정기적인 소독과 외부인·차량 출입 통제, 질병 의심 가축 즉시 신고 등 방역수칙 준수를 당부하고 있다.

진주시 관계자는 “기후변화로 폭염이 더욱 빈번하고 장기화되고 있다”며“축산농가와 함께 가축 사양관리와 방역에 행정력을 집중해 폭염 피해를 최소화 하겠다"고 말했다.
