[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 시청에서 조규일 시장과 축제 유관기관·단체, 관계 공무원 등이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 하반기 축제 개최 계획 보고회’를 가졌다고 30일 밝혔다.

시는 하반기에 오는 8월 진주 M2페스티벌을 시작으로 국가유산 미디어아트 진주성, 진주 국가유산 야행, 오는 10월 진주남강유등축제와 개천예술제, 코리아드라마페스티벌이 차례로 열린다.

진주남강유등축제는 외국인 참여 프로그램 확대와 다국어 플랫폼 구축, 관광상품 개발 등을 통해 참여·체류형 축제로 전환하고 글로벌 명품 빛 축제로 경쟁력을 한층 높여 나갈 계획이다.

시는 축제 기간에 드론 라이트 쇼와 불꽃놀이를 운영하고 안전사고 예방, 바가지요금 근절, 관람객 편의 증진을 위한 스마트 수용대책도 함께 추진해 안전한 축제 환경을 조성할 방침이다.

조규일 진주시장은 “하반기 축제가 세계 축제도시 진주의 위상을 높이는 계기가 되도록 철저히 준비하겠다”며“개선사항을 충실히 반영해 관람객이 다시 찾고 싶은 축제를 만들어 달라”고 말했다.

The city intends to create a safe festival environment by operating drone light shows and fireworks during the festival period, while simultaneously implementing smart accommodation measures to prevent safety accidents, eradicate price gouging, and improve visitor convenience.
