[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 진양호공원 가족쉼터 하모놀이숲 진입로에 쿨링포그를 설치하고 운영을 시작했다고 27일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 행정안전부 재난안전특별교부세 7600여만원을 투입해 추진됐으며 가족쉼터 1곳에 분사노즐 10개를 갖춘 쿨링포그를 설치해 폭염 저감 효과를 높였다.

쿨링포그는 미세한 물입자를 안개 형태로 분사해 체감온도를 3~5℃ 낮추는 시설로 이용자의 옷이 젖지 않으면서도 시원하고 쾌적한 휴식공간을 제공한다.

시설은 7월부터 오는 9월까지 폭염대책기간 동안 기온 28℃ 이상 상대습도 80% 이하일 때 자동으로 가동되며 기상여건에 맞춰 효율적으로 운영된다.

진주시 관계자는 “쿨링포그 설치를 통해 공원환경을 더욱 쾌적하게 조성하겠다”며“시민들이 안전하고 시원한 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 최선을 다할 계획이다”고 말했다.
