[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도 특별사법경찰은 캠핑 성수기를 맞아 5월부터 7월까지 미등록 야영장을 대상으로 기획수사를 실시한 결과, 관광진흥법을 위반한 야영장 4곳을 적발해 수사하고 있다고 10일 밝혔다.

도 특사경은 온라인 예약사이트 모니터링과 현장 정보 수집을 통해 미등록이 의심되는 야영장을 선별한 뒤 단속이 상대적으로 어려운 주말과 야간 시간대에 집중 단속을 벌여 불법 영업 사실을 확인했다.

적발된 사업장들은 야영장 등록 의무를 알고도 등록에 필요한 비용 등을 이유로 절차를 이행하지 않은 채 영업을 계속한 것으로 조사됐다. 과거 같은 위반으로 적발된 이후에도 영업을 이어간 사례와 등록이 불가능한 부지에서 불법 영업을 한 사례도 포함됐다.

미등록 야영장은 등록 과정에서 소방·전기 등 안전기준 검증을 받지 않아 화재와 감전, 시설물 사고 위험이 상대적으로 크다는 것이 도 특사경의 설명이다. 특히 야외 전기설비는 누전 등 안전사고 위험에 노출될 수 있다.

관광진흥법은 미등록 야영장을 운영한 경우 2년 이하의 징역 또는 2천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 규정하고 있다. 도 특사경은 적발된 사업주 4명을 형사입건한 뒤 순차적으로 검찰에 송치할 예정이다.
