이번 협약은 창원의 고도화된 정밀 기계, 자동차 부품, 플랜트 기술을 파키스탄의 거대 내수 시장과 직접 연결하는 ‘실리형 비즈니스 파이프라인’을 구축했다.

 

파키스탄 측에서는 사예드 모아잠 후세인 샤 주한 파키스탄 대사가 직접 창원을 찾았고, 무다사르 알리 치마 PBA 회장을 비롯한 현지 핵심 회원사 대표 20여 명이 대거 동행했다. 한국 측에서는 현지 사정에 정통한 외교 베테랑 송종환 전 주파키스탄 대사(현 경남대 초빙석좌교수)가 가교 역할을 맡았으며, 창원상의에서는 최재호 회장과 김명자 국제협력위원회 위원장 등 지역 상공계 리더들이 마주 앉았다.
