올해 경남은 중소벤처기업부 R&D 사업에서 전국 접수 1위(84개 사 신청) 및 최종 35개 사 선정이라는 압도적인 성과를 달성했다. 이는 하루아침에 이루어진 것이 아닌, 낡은 규제를 혁파하고 기업의 눈높이에 맞춘 경남TP 기업지원단의 치밀한 기획과 실행력이 빚어낸 결과다.

경남TP는 전년도(2025년) 지역 R&D 지원 현황을 분석한 결과, 중기부의 기존 지정 품목 대부분이 약 3년 전에 설정되어 급변하는 첨단 주력산업의 수요를 담아내지 못하고 있음을 파악했다. 이는 곧 지역 기업들의 저조한 사업 신청으로 이어지는 원인이었다.

◆ 사각지대 없는 전방위 밀착 홍보 및 맞춤형 컨설팅

 

잘 짜인 판 위에서 기업들이 마음껏 뛸 수 있도록 이끈 것은 김진상 팀장이 이끄는 현장 밀착형 지원 전략이었다. 김 팀장은 "비R&D 사업과 R&D 사업을 유기적으로 연계하여 홍보 시너지를 극대화하고 선정률을 높이는 데 총력을 기울였다"고 강조했다.

 

2025년 7월부터 전 부서원을 대상으로 자체 R&D 교육을 실시하며 내부 역량을 다진 기업지원단은, 정책기획단과의 동반 홍보 및 경상남도와의 협조를 통해 최종 선정된 35개 사 모두 도비 매칭 지원금을 확보하는 든든한 기반을 마련했다. 특히 지역별 특성을 고려한 3단계 맞춤형 설명회가 주효했다.

 

1차 창원(현장 컨설팅 접목), 종합설명회에 196명이 참석한 가운데, 개편된 기술 분야 전문가들을 현장에 투입하여 18건의 1:1 매칭 컨설팅을 즉석에서 진행하며 사업계획서 작성 노하우를 전수했다.

 

2차 사천(우주항공 특화), 전년도 실적이 부진했던 항공 분야를 타개하기 위해 우주항공본부와 연계해 특화 상담을 진행했다. 그 결과 에어로코텍, 켄코아에어로스페이스 등 유망 기업들의 대거 참여를 이끌어냈다.

 

3차 양산(소외지역 및 인력난 해소), 동원과학기술대와 공동 개최하여, R&D 수혜 시 발생하는 '의무 고용조건'을 지역 대학 졸업생 채용과 연계시키는 묘안을 제시해 중소기업의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

 

이에 더해 TBN 경남 교통방송 라디오 직접 출연 및 다매체 홍보를 병행하며 지역 내 R&D 붐을 조성했다.
