[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령군은 일상생활 중 예기치 못한 재난과 사고로부터 군민의 생활 안정을 지원하기 위해 '2026년 군민안전보험'에 갱신 가입하고 15일부터 본격 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

 

군민안전보험은 의령군이 보험료 전액을 부담하는 제도로, 의령군에 주민등록을 둔 모든 군민이 별도의 가입 절차 없이 자동으로 혜택을 받을 수 있다.

 

특히 올해부터는 등록 외국인까지 보장 대상에 포함해 의령에 거주하는 모든 주민이 차별 없이 안전 복지 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 했다.

 

2026년도 군민안전보험의 보장 기간은 15일부터 2027년 1월 14일까지 1년간이며, 보장 항목은 총 43개다.

 

주요 변경 사항으로는 기존 '폭발·화재·붕괴'상해사망 및 후유장해 항목에 최근 사회적 이슈로 떠오른 '땅꺼짐'사고를 포함해 보장 범위를 보다 구체화했다.

 

주요 보장 내용으로는 △농기계 사고 상해사망 및 후유장해 최대 4,000만 원 △자연재해 사망 3,000만 원 △스쿨존 교통사고 부상치료비 2,000만 원 등이 있다.

 

이 밖에도 △개물림 사고 △야생동물 피해 △가스 사고 등 일상생활에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 위험에 대비한 보장 체계를 갖췄다.

 

보험금 청구는 사고 발생일로부터 3년 이내에 가능하며, 개인이 가입한 다른 보험과 중복 보장도 가능하다.

 

의령군은 2018년 군민안전보험을 처음 도입한 이후 현재까지 총 77건의 사고에 대해 약 5억 5천만 원의 보험금을 지급하며 군민 안전을 뒷받침해 왔다.

 

군 관계자는 "보장 대상과 항목을 현실에 맞게 보완했다"며 "군민 안전을 위한 제도를 지속적으로 점검·개선해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
