▲ 의령군, 국민팜 EXPO 최우수 지자체상 수상

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령군이 ‘2025 국민팜 EXPO 박람회’에서 최우수지자체상(농식품부 장관상)을 수상했다.

 

지난 20일부터 22일까지 전국 50여 개 지자체가 참가한 박람회에서 미래농업 비전(30%), 귀농귀촌 활성화(20%), 지역홍보(20%) 등의 평가 항목으로 최우수 지자체 상을 선정했다.

 

군은 평가 항목에서 가장 높은 점수를 받아 전국 지자체 중 한 곳만 선정하는 최우수지자체 상을 받는 영예를 안았다. 

 

의령군은 최근 청년 귀농귀촌 가구수가 급격히 증가하는 등 실효성 있는 귀농귀촌 인구증가 정책 시행에 있어 높은 점수를 받았다.

 

의령군은 올해 5월 말 기준 귀농귀촌 가구수가 517가구로 전년 대비 38가구, 지지난해 대비 133가구가 증가하면서 청년귀농귀촌 인구가 급증하고 있다.

 

특히 청년 귀농인을 위한 ‘청년 귀농인 창업 지원 사업’,‘신규 농업인 현장실습 교육’과 청년 중고차 구입비 지원, 청년 반값 임대주택 사업 등 맞춤형 의령 청년 희망 프로젝트 ‘청년정책패키지 사업’과의 연계 시너지 효과에 호평이 이어졌다. 

 

오태완 군수는 “이번 최우수 지자체상 수상은 의령군의 성공적인 귀농귀촌 정착 모델을 전국에 널리 알릴 수 있는 계기가 됐다”며 "앞으로도 도시민들이 의령군에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 정책 기반과 홍보 활동을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

 

한편 ‘부자1번지 의령’이란 주제로 참여한 이번 박람회는 △귀농정착 지원사업 △귀농귀촌 주택수리비 지원사업 △귀농인 농지임대료 지원사업 등 군 자체적으로 추진 중인 주요 사업을 도시민과 청년층을 대상으로 다양한 맞춤형 상담 프로그램을 진행했다.
