우선, ‘혁신’ 가치 실현을 위해 기존 국가산단과 미래 50년 쌍두마차가 될 방위·원자력 융합 국가산단 후보지의 후속 절차를 본격화했으며 창원국가산단 일원 59만1,145㎡에 수소 기반 미래모빌리티 기회발전특구로 최종 지정되어 기업 투자유치를 촉진할 것으로 기대된다.

 

또한 창원국가산단에 ‘지역 디지털혁신거점 조성사업’ 등 5개 대형사업을 유치해, 국비 750억원을 확보했다.

또한 ‘창원국가산단의 미래 50년 K-방산, 원전, 스마트제조 연구중심대학’을 비전으로 해 국립창원대의 ‘글로컬대학’ 선정계획을 수립하고 지원해 선정되는 쾌거를 거두기도 했다.

 

마지막, ‘활력’ 측면에서는 창원대로변의 준공업지역을 50년 만에 대대적으로 개편했다.

트럼프 2기 정부 출범에 따른 국제질서 변화, AI 등 기술 경쟁 심화 등 대외 여건과 국내 정국 불안에 따른 불확실성 고조, 내수 침체 장기화 우려 등 국내 환경은 여전히 불안한 상황이다.

 

이러한 불확실한 상황 속에서도 창원시는 땜질식 처방이 아닌 장기적인 비전 아래에 ‘창원 산업혁신파크’ 대전환을 위해 대형 과제들을 차분히 추진할 계획이다.

우선 공간적 측면에서 핵심 대형 사업인 신규 창원국가산단, 디지털 마산자유무역지역의 신속한 정부 예비타당성 조사 통과에 전력을 다해 미래 50년 먹거리를 책임질 공간을 창출한다.

 

아울러 준공업지역 지구단위계획 개편에 이어 업무지구 공간구조 재편도 추진한다.

 

경남도청부터 산업단지공단까지의 거리는 창원을 대표하는 중심로를 미래형으로 재편해 도시의 지속 가능성과 경쟁력을 강화할 계획이다.

 

한편 공간을 채울 핵심 콘텐츠들도 함께 준비하고 있다.
