[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 20일 경남테크노파크 회의실에서 경남 원전기업 수출 경쟁력 강화를 위해 한국원자력산업협회, 한국원전수출산업협회와 업무협약을 체결하고 두산에너빌리티, 중견·중소기업 대표들과 간담회를 개최했다.

 

경남은 세계적인 글로벌 원전기업인 두산에너빌리티와 180여 개의 협력사 등 원전 제조기업 324개가 모여있는 국내 최대 원전기업 집적지이다. 이번 행사는 글로벌 원전 제조 경쟁력을 더욱 강화해, 세계 원전산업 시장을 선점하고자 도내 원전기업의 수출 확대를 위한 전략을 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.

 

국내외 원전산업 축소에 대한 우려가 있었지만, 경남은 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 로봇활용 제작지원센터 설립을 위한 국비 25억 8,000만 원을 전액 확보하는 등 경남도 원전 핵심사업은 차질 없이 진행되고 있다.

 

경남 원전산업 예산은 지난해 10억 원에서 올해 36억 원으로 26억 원 증액됐고, 원자력산업 전문인력양성, 원전 중소기업 혁신 중장기 연구개발(R&D) 지원, 원전기업 수출 컨설팅 지원 등 신규사업은 2배로 늘었다.

 

특히, 원전기업 수출 컨설팅 지원사업은 지난해 7월 팀코리아의 체코 신규 원전 건설 우선협상대상자 선정 후 도내 원전기업 수출 확대 지원 설명회와 수요조사를 통해 기획된 사업이다. 

 

지난 16일 한수원과 미국 웨스팅하우스 간 지식재산권 분쟁의 해결로 신규 원전 수출의 법적 불확실성이 해소됨에 따라 원전 수출 확대를 예견한 선제 대응으로 효과가 기대되는 사업이다.

이날 간담회에는 우지식 산업통상자원부 원전수출협력과 사무관, 노백식 한국원자력산업협회 부회장, 이민철 한국원전수출산업협회 부회장, 박천중 한국수력원자력 상생협력처장, 손한국 경남지방중소벤처기업청장, 김성복 에너지기술평가원 PD단장, 송상우 한국재료연구원 원자력안전단장, 강홍규 두산에너빌리티 전무, 도내 원전기업 대표 등 20여 명이 참석했다.

 

원전 기자재 수출 촉진, 해외품질인증 취득·지원, 해외 원전 기관·기업과 협력체계 구축 등의 내용을 담은 업무협약은 경남도, 한국원자력산업협회, 한국원전수출산업협회가 함께 경남 원전기업의 경쟁력을 높여 글로벌 원전 시장에서 영향력을 확대하기 위해 체결했다.
